Father Benjamin Lawrence, Vicar

Father Lawrence grew up in the Napa Valley.

He came to Christ in his senior year of high school.  At the invitation of a friend, he attended Good Friday services in the Episcopal Church.  Father Lawrence attempted to become more involved in the Episcopal Church, but the more he inquired and learned in the following years made him yearn for the one, true, holy, Catholic and Apostolic church.  Father Lawrence found that the theological proper worship left him "unchurched" for several years.

It was not until he moved to Redding, California in 2009 that he found St. Luke's Church and the Anglican Province of Christ the King (APCK).  While working as a California Highway Patrol Officer, Father Lawrence became increasingly more involved in the parish and the liturgical life of St. Luke's as an acolyte, licensed lay reader, sexton, vestry member and a people's warden.

Father Lawrence began commencing religious studies which let to his ordination to the diaconate on July 7, 2019 and later to the priesthood on October 2, 2022 during the Feast of St. Michael's and All Angels.  Following his ordination to the priesthood, he was appointed the curate of St. Luke's.  In May, 2025 he was appointed Vicar of St. Stephen's Anglican Church by Bishop Ordinary Donald Ashman.

Father Ben is the father of three children and the grandfather of one grandson and they are the center of his earthly world.
